The featured artist at the Dorset Library in July is Dorothea “Dottie” Ferone. The public is invited to meet Dottie at an opening reception on Saturday July 1 from 11 am to 1 pm. Refreshments will be served.  A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the library.

Dottie has taught art and exhibited her artwork for more than 40 years. She maintains active memberships at Southern Vermont Arts Center, Vero Beach Art Center and the Plein Air Painters of the Treasure Coast. “As an artist, I want to see the light and paint many different subjects:  people, animals, landscapes and still life”.  She holds a BFA from Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY and studied abroad at the Academe Julian in Paris. She taught private oil painting classes to adults and children and has committed to teaching others painting techniques and working with artists to cultivate their talents and style. She has had exhibitions in New York, Vermont and Florida.  Dottie and her husband maintain residences in Vero Beach, FL and Manchester, VT.  She was born in Fairfield, CT where she began her artist career sketching boats in South Port Harbor.
