The featured artist at the Dorset Public Library during the month of December will be The Dorset School Art Classes. The public is invited to meet the students and their teacher, Mr. Paarlberg-Kvam, at the opening reception on Saturday, December 2nd from 11-1pm. Refreshments will be served.
The Dorset Village Library will be showcasing a body of art works made by the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students at the Dorset School. This work highlights some of the art making skills that the students practice in their art class with Mr. Paarlberg-Kvam. The projects are designed to allow for individual expression and to be a demonstration of basic visual arts concepts and vocabulary discussed during the students’ bi-weekly art session. Mr. Paarlberg-Kvam is in his 3rd year at The Dorset School and enjoys working with students of all ages. He finds great pleasure in challenging the students through creative problem-solving and enjoys affirming the unique talents and ideas of the kids in his classes. All K-8 Dorset student work will be on display at the annual art show held in the spring at the school.
