The Vermont Online Library (VTOL) offers a wide array of electronic information databases on a variety of topics geared to a variety of age levels, for both generalists and specialists. The information is produced by known and trusted publishers and includes Gale Cengage Learning databases (via Vermont academic, school, and public member libraries) and Universal Class online learning (via all Vermont public libraries.) These resources are available to you 24-hours-a-day from not only your participating local library, but your home, your office – or anywhere Internet access is available. Any Dorset Village Library cardholder may access VTOL.

The first time you log in, please use this format.
Username:  Your current library card number
Password:   Your last name, first letter capitalized

Once you have access, you may change your password to any 4 digit pin number. Call the library or stop in if you need assistance.  Download the Getting Started PDF to learn more.

Through our membership in the Green Mountain Consortium, Dorset Village Library offers downloadable audiobooks and E-books via overdrive.com! Any Dorset Village Library cardholder may access the collection. You will need your library card number to check out and download audiobooks. The website offers online tutorials, guides to compatible devices, and an excellent FAQ section to get you started with downloads. A wide range of fiction and nonfiction audiobooks for children, young adults and adults is available. You’ll need to download the Libby App to borrow and read from your library.

Mango Languages provides an introduction to language and culture through learning practical conversation skills. Using real-life situations and actual conversations, you will not only learn words and phrases, but also how to use them. A text translator is also provided.

Click the sign up button and follow the instructions to create an account.  When prompted to choose a subscription, select “Access New You – Find Free Mango” and click “Search”.  Select Dorset Village Library, enter your library card number and click “Connect” and start learning!

Please enter this number: 205251(followed directly by your complete library card number). Example: 20525157749999. You will then be taken to a registration page and can proceed with your learning!

Consolidate your online library with the Palace Project app (Green Mountain Library Consortium, Vermont Department of Libraries Online Collection and titles borrowed from individual libraries).

Download and open the Palace Project app.  First, search for the Dorset Village Library, then you can browse the collection. Once you find your selection, click GET.  Next you will enter your library card number (barcode) and your Dorset Library’s Aspen Discovery Pin Number.  Then you are ready to sign in and begin reading or listening!
